The problem is that most standard euro cylinder locks, cost as little as £3, are very basic in design and although they all perform the task of locking off the deadbolts on a door they have a known weakness which burglars are exploiting to break into homes.... quickly and quietly. 25% of all burglaries are conducted by exploiting this vulnerability. You might feel safe having installed the most complex multi-point locking door with sensors acting as bells and whistles. But none of that matters if your locks are not up-to the task.
The most common thing we hear from homeowners looking to upgrade their locks is; "I wish I'd have known before I got burgled!". Well... prevention is better than the cure and upgrading your home security isn't as expensive as you might think!
ABS locks have been designed to secure your home from one of the most common methods of forced entry.... Lock Snapping. And the best bit is that ABS locks are retro-fit so this means you can simply take the old lock out and slide in a ABS lock upgrade in no time! One of our new interns managed to do it in just 20 seconds. That said, 20 seconds is still longer than what it would take an intruder to break into your home using the lock snapping technique. Tested by the Master Locksmith Association, the police and security professionals; the Avocet ABS lock range holds the highest standards availableand is stamped with the British Kitemark - the universal symbol of quality and safety.
If an intruder attempts to snap ABS an initial sacrificial section will deploy - This allows the lock to still operate from outside using the key on the remaining section but makes it difficult for the intruder to remove the second part of the cylinder.
Any attempt to break the lock past the two snap off points will result in the patented Active Cam Technology activating to totally lock off the cam. ABS keeps the intruder out and your home and family safe.
There are lots of different sizes of a lock to suit lots of different thicknesses of doors... Putting anti-snap features on both sides makes it cheaper for the company holding the stock as they don't have to hold as many product lines. This could mean that you pay for features you don't need on the inside part of the lock.
ABS has all snap security features on the outside only - to ensure the inside section does not break away when attacked.
If ABS has been attacked and snapped from the outside the homeowner can still open and close the door safely and securely from the inside.
Your ABS lock includes a unique key code system which you can link to you. You can do this online at the Key Zone or over the phone 24/7 every day of the year.
Your key code is on your card and not visible on your key - Your ABS key already includes a comfort grip so you won't have to purchase expensive add-ons to hide your key code.
